A cupple of sips into my coffee and after I'd demolished a packet of my sons Uglies biscuits in he walks, he must have smelt them! So in he comes with handfuls of toys and starts telling about each of them. Lovely, I know, but I just wanted a 5 minute mummy blog/coffee break.
So I listen to each of his gorgeous little stories about the toy in hand and then he wants a packet of biscuits himself, why not hey? Mummy has just had some. So he gets tucked into the biscuits and what do you think comes next? Yes, 'mummy, I'm thirsty'. So now he has a drink and a snack and toys to occupy him. Just as I sit back down to finish my coffee, the baby wakes up!
Its hair pulling stuff right? All in a mummy's day though! How dare I try and have a relaxing break, there is no such thing!
I'm a bad Mumma - I put on a Dora the Explorer dvd for half hour every morning so I can have a coffee and do a quick email check/blog catchup while my toddler is occupied :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Melinda, you're not on your own, I've tried the distractional dvd as well! We need our coffee to get us through the day, so whatever distraction works well for you, go with it I say!
